Pool Rules

1. Admittance Policy

  1. Lifeguards and/or Pool Staff have the right to refuse pool use to anyone, particularly those who do not meet the guidelines of the admittance policy or disrupt a safe pool environment. Contact the pool manager (kg34.poolmanager@gmail.com) with any questions, concerns, or disputes.

  2. Admittance to the pool is restricted to members in good standing of Kingsgate Highlands Divisions 3 & 4 Homes Association, their household, and their guests.

  3. Guests will be charged a fee to access the pool area.

  4. Immediate family members (limited to parents, siblings, and adult children) of members not residing in the household are considered guests and must comply with all guest rules.  However, they will be charged a $0 fee for pool access.

  5. A member’s minor grandchildren are considered to be a member of the household.

  6. No member may bring more than (5) individuals or (2) families (limited to parents and children) to the pool as their guests at one time.

  7. No guests, including immediate family members, may use the pool unless the member accompanies them for the guest’s entire visit. Members cannot accompany a guest during check-in and then leave the pool area while allowing the guest to remain.

  8. The occupant of the Kingsgate property has all pool privileges in rental situations unless the renter has been removed from the privileges list and replaced by the homeowner. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to notify the Board of this decision, in writing.  The homeowner and the renter cannot have pool privileges simultaneously.

    1. When renter and homeowner are both occupants of the Kingsgate property pool privileges are granted to the homeowner and the renter will be considered a guest. They must be accompanied by the homeowner and a guest fee will apply.

      • Kingsgate property homeowners can have their pool privileges removed from the privileges list and replaced by the renter. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to notify the Board of this decision, in writing.  The homeowner and the renter cannot have pool privileges simultaneously. Homeowners will need to be accompanied by their renters and a guest fee will apply.

  9. All persons entering the pool area must check into the pool office and provide the information requested by Lifeguards and/or Pool Staff.

  10. Children under 8 years old may not access the pool area unless accompanied by an adult. 

  11. Admission will be refused to any person with an infectious disease, open sore, or wound. All bandages must be removed.

  12. The following persons and their immediate family members are hereby granted pool membership by the Board of Trustees; they may not bring any guests:

    • Active employees of the Association who are in good standing; and

    • The current Pastor of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church located at 11611 NE 140th St, Kirkland, WA 98034.

 

2. Pool Rules

  1. The instructions of Lifeguards and/or Pool Staff must be followed at all time.

  2. No glass, sharp-pointed, breakable, or other dangerous objects are permitted in the pool area.

  3. An adult must accompany any child in the wading pool.

  4. Any child 8 years of age or younger who cannot pass a swimming test administered by Lifeguards and/or Pool Staff must be accompanied in the pool by an adult or person considered competent by the Lifeguards and/or Pool Staff.

  5. Conduct of a disorderly nature, including abusive language, will not be permitted.

  6. All people using the pool must take a full shower, including hair before entering the pool.

  7. No pets allowed in the pool area. (Service Animals are permitted.)

  8. No smoking or other use of tobacco products in the pool area (or anywhere in the park).  No alcoholic beverages are allowed in the pool.  Alcoholic beverages must be consumed from a container that does not allow for identification of its contents.

  9. No swimming in street clothes permitted. Clean T-shirts and lightweight shorts may be worn over swimsuits at Lifeguard discretion.

  10. Non-potty-trained swimmers must wear swim diapers; no regular disposable or cloth diapers are permitted in the pool.

  11. No running on the decks or walkways in the pool area.

  12. No water toys or floatation devices are to be used without permission from the Lifeguards and/or Pool Staff.

  13. Children requiring floatation devices (rings, water-wings, etc.) must be within arm’s length of an adult or person considered competent by the Lifeguards and/or Pool Staff.

  14. No playing aloud of personal music without the permission of the Lifeguards and/or Pool Staff. If you have a music request for the pool music, please make suggestions to the Lifeguard and/or Pool Staff.

  15. Adult swim time is for adults only. The wading pool is not open at that time. Children under the age of 18 are not to be in the pool area during adult swim time without permission from the Lifeguards and/or Pool Staff.

  16. Pool hours will be posted at the pool and published on the Association website during the swimming season. The hours are subject to change, such as to accommodate swim meets and other events.

  17. No member may conduct paid swim lessons (other than those offered through the Association) without the written permission of the Pool Manager and adherence to the below conditions:

    • A fee will be charged to the member conducting paid swim lessons, but non-member lesson participants will not be charged a guest fee for entry to the pool for the purpose of a swimming lesson.

    • If a member authorized to teach lessons has been granted a pool membership by the Board of Trustees in accordance with Paragraph 1.12 of these Rules, they may bring non-members to the pool area for the sole purpose of paid swimming lessons.

    • A non-member lesson participant may only be admitted to the pool immediately prior to their lesson. The lesson participant may remain in the pool and pool area after their lesson but will not be allowed reentry privileges.

    • The member conducting the lessons and the person receiving the lessons (or their guardian if under 18) must sign a liability release and may be required to provide proof of insurance.

 

3. Violations

  1. Any violation of the rules and policies reported by the Pool Manager to the Board of Trustees may result in the suspension of the member’s privileges to use the pool facilities for a period not to exceed 180 days.  At the request of the member involved, a hearing will be called concerning the suspension; the hearing will take place within one week of the notice of suspension.

  2. In addition to suspension of privileges, the Board of Trustees may also levy fines of $50 per violation of these rules.

  3. Malicious damage to or the destruction of the pool area may also result in suspension and/or fines, plus liability to reimburse the Association for damages.
